Seems I need this… I’ve been in dark, wintry, sleepy, depressed hibernation mode lately.

Check out the project blog for more info on this–the goal is to write 100 lists of 100 things.2nd list of 100 : ways to nurture myself

See the lists of 100 blog I co-host for more details on this project.

YOU are strongly encouraged to write your own gratitude lists, of whatever length, and as frequently as possible. They can change your life. Seriously.

100 things I am grateful for

  1. Food, in all its variety and colorfulness, which sustains and nourishes us.
  2. My apartment, a safe, cozy haven to share with my husband and kitties.
  3. My family, for being there for me as much as they are able to be.
  4. My husband, Jeff, for four years of marriage, ups and downs, and for his unwavering solidity and faithfulness.
  5. Two years off working at a “job” — this sabbatial has been a great time for me to grow and to explore my creativity and values.
  6. Counseling, without which I would have caved long ago to the dark side.
  7. Cats — for raising me and training me. ;)
  8. Pillow fights as play!
  9. My nieces, who taught me to be in the moment. I had forgotten about that!
  10. Meditation practice which grounds me and uplifts me.

some fun things

Here are some fun things I couldn’t resist:

Toronto always sounds like such a fantastic city with fantastic public transit and multiculturalism. Another reason I really want to visit Toronto some day is that I just learned they had a Public Pillow Fight last year! Yes! Incredible, n’est-ce pas? I wish I’d been there. (Thanks to Janet for pointing me to this.)

Animator vs. Animation. Had me laughing out loud by the end.

Lemur eyes. There are several verisons out there, but this was by far the funniest to me.

What’s really making my day today, though, is how well Barack Obama is doing in the primaries.  Huzzah!

91% Mike Gravel
90% Dennis Kucinich
87% Barack Obama
85% John Edwards
84% Joe Biden
83% Chris Dodd
81% Hillary Clinton
73% Bill Richardson
37% Rudy Giuliani
26% John McCain
25% Ron Paul
21% Mitt Romney
18% Mike Huckabee
18% Tom Tancredo
9% Fred Thompson

2008 Presidential Candidate Matching Quiz

Heather included me in her Make My Day list! I’m honored!

The premise is: Give the award to 10 people whose blogs bring you happiness and inspiration and make you feel happy about blogland. Let them know by posting a comment on their blog so they can pass it on. Beware you may get the award several times.

So, in no particular order, here’s who Makes My Day lately:

The Noticing Project : photo per day by two photographers… lovely pristine images which somehow, each day, complement each other very nicely!

Shutter Sisters : a new discovery of mine, this is a fab group of women and their cameras.

AfricanKelli : I’ve been reading Kelli’s writing for at least a year, which makes it a long-time love. She is super-crafty (I aspire to sew one day like her), a fantastic writer, culturally sensitive and politically active. Oh, did I mention I like her writing?

Happy Things : I think I’ve mentioned her before. Great at noticing the ephemereal things. Reminds me to do so.

the scent of water makes everything look so beautiful.

Pie Knits has been an inspiration to me since I got into the blog world.  Very cute, hip, and well-thought out patterns.  And with a pie as her logo, how could I resist?

Mary Jane : with a Climbing Mount Cassoulet Cook Off!  Wow!

If you are reading this, and feel like participating, make my day.  I nominate you too!
