some fun things

Here are some fun things I couldn’t resist:

Toronto always sounds like such a fantastic city with fantastic public transit and multiculturalism. Another reason I really want to visit Toronto some day is that I just learned they had a Public Pillow Fight last year! Yes! Incredible, n’est-ce pas? I wish I’d been there. (Thanks to Janet for pointing me to this.)

Animator vs. Animation. Had me laughing out loud by the end.

Lemur eyes. There are several verisons out there, but this was by far the funniest to me.

Heather included me in her Make My Day list! I’m honored!

The premise is: Give the award to 10 people whose blogs bring you happiness and inspiration and make you feel happy about blogland. Let them know by posting a comment on their blog so they can pass it on. Beware you may get the award several times.

So, in no particular order, here’s who Makes My Day lately:

The Noticing Project : photo per day by two photographers… lovely pristine images which somehow, each day, complement each other very nicely!

Shutter Sisters : a new discovery of mine, this is a fab group of women and their cameras.

AfricanKelli : I’ve been reading Kelli’s writing for at least a year, which makes it a long-time love. She is super-crafty (I aspire to sew one day like her), a fantastic writer, culturally sensitive and politically active. Oh, did I mention I like her writing?

Happy Things : I think I’ve mentioned her before. Great at noticing the ephemereal things. Reminds me to do so.

the scent of water makes everything look so beautiful.

Pie Knits has been an inspiration to me since I got into the blog world.  Very cute, hip, and well-thought out patterns.  And with a pie as her logo, how could I resist?

Mary Jane : with a Climbing Mount Cassoulet Cook Off!  Wow!

If you are reading this, and feel like participating, make my day.  I nominate you too!

What’s the Recipe for Your Personality?

Just something fun I saw over at Sara’s.

the 8-lb. Queen of our house Hi Mom & Dad,

I’m having fun. I really like the sliding door.
Sometimes it is just a screen and i can listen to
the sounds of the birds in the trees for hours.
I spend most of my time there.

Occasionally an airplane comes over and i have to
go back to my the nice warm dark hideyhole in the
bedroom. I spend a lot of time there. I like it.
When the weather was still hot there was no blanket
on the bed and i could crouch and peer out under the
bed. But now there is a blanket blocking the view.
It makes my hideyhole more cozy though.

I’ve been missing you. I keep asking the weird guy
who i’m taking care of where you are, but he hasn’t
told me anything i understand yet. I talked to the
weird guy a lot for a few days and when i realized that
you were going to be gone a long time i spent three
whole days under the bed.

I don’t miss my bully little brother though! It’s so
nice to have the whole place to myself, i’m really
enjoying being in charge of the whole house. That’s fun.
And i can eat my food all day. That’s great!
Ok i do kind of miss him a little. Sometimes i forget
and look around to see where he is. I call to him
but he doesn’t answer, then i remember that he’s gone
and i’m a little sad.

Each morning i get a big hunk of wet food and new water.
The weird guy hasn’t forgotten even once, although sometimes
i remind him as soon as he is out of bed, just to be sure!

The carpet here is more comfortable than my bed, so i
don’t use it. I have fun with the scratching post!!
I like strutting around, it’s a comfortable place, but
of course the weird guy sometimes gets in the way and i
have to go back to the bed.

Adam from downstairs comes to visit every few days and i
said hello to him this week…. from across the room, of
course.

This weekend Julie stopped by quite a lot. She gave me my
food in the morning and in the evening she sat and read.
I peeked out at her, but then she tried to pet me so i
decided to leave.

This morning i was very excited that the weird guy was back.
I think i like having him as a pet. So i was running fast
circles around the house. Of course when he walked over to
my food bowl i had to run to the bed again, but i came back
soon. I like spending time by the balcony door more than
in the hideyhole these days.

He has some strange toys that he plays with, i think he
wants me to play with him and sometimes i play a little
just to make him happy, but i’m not really very interested.

I hope you’re having a lots of fun. I’m doing really good
and i like my new place but i will be happy to see you
when you get back.

Meow!!!
