some fun things

Here are some fun things I couldn’t resist:

Toronto always sounds like such a fantastic city with fantastic public transit and multiculturalism. Another reason I really want to visit Toronto some day is that I just learned they had a Public Pillow Fight last year! Yes! Incredible, n’est-ce pas? I wish I’d been there. (Thanks to Janet for pointing me to this.)

Animator vs. Animation. Had me laughing out loud by the end.

Lemur eyes. There are several verisons out there, but this was by far the funniest to me.

What’s really making my day today, though, is how well Barack Obama is doing in the primaries.  Huzzah!

2008 Presidential Candidate Matching Quiz

Heather included me in her Make My Day list! I’m honored!

The premise is: Give the award to 10 people whose blogs bring you happiness and inspiration and make you feel happy about blogland. Let them know by posting a comment on their blog so they can pass it on. Beware you may get the award several times.

So, in no particular order, here’s who Makes My Day lately:

The Noticing Project : photo per day by two photographers… lovely pristine images which somehow, each day, complement each other very nicely!

Shutter Sisters : a new discovery of mine, this is a fab group of women and their cameras.

AfricanKelli : I’ve been reading Kelli’s writing for at least a year, which makes it a long-time love. She is super-crafty (I aspire to sew one day like her), a fantastic writer, culturally sensitive and politically active. Oh, did I mention I like her writing?

Happy Things : I think I’ve mentioned her before. Great at noticing the ephemereal things. Reminds me to do so.

the scent of water makes everything look so beautiful.

Pie Knits has been an inspiration to me since I got into the blog world.  Very cute, hip, and well-thought out patterns.  And with a pie as her logo, how could I resist?

Mary Jane : with a Climbing Mount Cassoulet Cook Off!  Wow!

If you are reading this, and feel like participating, make my day.  I nominate you too!

lists of 100

I recently learned about a brainstorming idea — making a list of 100 items all in one sitting.

“The List of 100 is a powerful technique you can use to generate ideas, clarify your thoughts, uncover hidden problems or get solutions to any specific questions you’re interested in. ” Complete text here.

I heard about this through an unlikely source: Simone’s swaps on Swap-bot. She is doing some swaps of lists starting with “100 Things I’m Grateful for.” I got really excited by this project, and I wound up creating a blog for folks to share their lists! There are 126 people signed up for the first swap, and already 10 contributors have signed up for the blog. It’s taken quite a few hours this weekend to get folks invited, registered, get the tech side of it handled. I’ll be working on my own lists soon…

Check out the blog here.

Does anyone know what has happened to Knit the Classics?  The site has been down for a number of days…  Ack!
